PRCF developed in Myanmar’s post-coup political context as a coalition and coordination platform involving ethnic political forces and partner organizations.
Constitutional Development
PRCF records and public interview material state that work on a federal constitution began in 2022. The drafting process drew on earlier federal constitutional work, longstanding ethnic political discussions and previous federal frameworks.
In 2024, PRCF issued The Constitution of Federal Democratic Union 2024 as a Final Draft.
Institutional Development
PRCF has continued to convene Secretariat, coordination, political and team-level meetings. Records from 2025 and 2026 show continuing work involving research, federal constitutional review, international relations and institutional coordination.
Research
The PRCF Research Team reported that it was established in November 2024. In 2025 it identified priority research themes including inter-ethnic unity and work relating to PRCF international relations policy.
2026 Direction
PRCF’s August 2026 In-Person Meeting adopted a Political Roadmap and immediate institutional priorities. The meeting also decided to establish an official PRCF website as part of the organization’s public-information infrastructure.
This page is a source-based institutional background. It is not intended to replace a formally approved comprehensive organizational history if PRCF later adopts one.
